What You Will Not Find:
You will not find cookie cutter import furniture. You will not find middle man mark-ups like factory sales representatives, showrooms at the large furniture markets, or traditional freight costs associated with importing furniture from extreme distances. All of those factors cut out, helps aid Penny Mustard in keeping our prices at bottom line pricing and delivering the highest quality and value available.

Environmental Thoughtfulness:
Consider the fact that for every tree taken by a forestry company that works with Penny Mustard, two new trees replace the one tree harvested. All of our lumber comes from forests that are selectively harvested not stripped to become farmland or commercial development. It is important to maintain the timber resources in this country, and we are definitely committed to that. Penny Mustard has taken it on as our responsibility to offer you a better option in buying furniture. We believe through renewable resources, tight cost controls and extreme attention to detail we can offer you handcrafted heirloom furniture for a very fair price. It is our intention that your new furniture will be a part of your family for generations to enjoy as it ages gracefully.

Picking Mustard Weeds, 1985.
The selection of lumbers offered include Cherry, Oak, Maple, Hickory, Walnut, Quarter-Sawn White Oak, Birdseye Maple, Rustic Maple, Pine, & Poplar. These are all lumbers harvested in the United States (mostly the Midwest) through lumber companies that maintain quality forestry management.

Quality Finish:
We offer stained lumber, painted lumber, painted lumber with a rubbed finish, and unfinished furniture. The furniture is built with quality and then finished with extreme attention to detail. The finishing process has many steps starting with proper sanding and preparation to the final finishing with a high quality finish appropriate for stain or paint that lies under the finish. Several collections are hand-signed and dated by the builder for true heirloom value.

A New England Tradition Continues...

For more than 150 years the Peterboro Basket Company has thrived in the heart of historic Peterborough, New Hampshire, in the serene shadow of Mt. Monadnock, surrounded by four seasons of the worlds most exquisite natural beauty.

men in a basket
The history of the Peterboro Basket Company dates back to 1841 when Amzi Childs came to Peterborough from Deerfield, Mass., to work on the manufacture of lead pipe. In 1854 he began weaving baskets in a building erected by Moses Chapman in 1830 as a wheelwright shop between Depot Street and the railroad tracks. Amzi Childs and Asa Henry made baskets for many years and had an excellent reputation. Their business burned in 1891. The business was sold to the McLane Basket Factory of Milford and moved there.

Henry B. Needham, the dean of the basket manufacturing business in Peterborough, came to town in 1875 and for 15 years was foreman at the Childs' factory. After that factory burned in 1891, Needham established the Needham Basket Factory in a part of the White Machine Shop at Elm and Water streets. He constructed a new building in 1893. In 1916 the H. B. Needham Basket Company incorporated and purchased the shoe factory near the depot. In 1920 the Peterborough company was organized to build a new factory and combined with the Milford company. In 1926 the building was damaged by fire and the present Peterboro Basket Co. organized.

Walter Hood, now semi-retired, has worked at the Peterboro Basket Company since 1962. In April, 2000, Hood will have 50 years of basket making to his credit. He is quite the celebrity. I like making baskets. They're one of the oldest creations of man. They date to before my time. I love my work, Hood said.

The rugged natural beauty of Peterboro has inspired Yankee artists like Thorton Wilder, the writers of Yankee Magazine, and the crafters of Peterboro Basket. More than a business, Peterboro Basket is a Yankee tradition. Although it has become an industry leader, this family owned and operated company has never forgotten the quiet, careful attention to detail with which Amzi Childs wove that first basket 150 years ago.

Pick My Decor is another Pick My Gift store, owned and operated by Pick My Gift.Com, and was developed due to the growing popularity and demand for quality home decor accents and accessories. In 2009, we elected to create Pick My Decor to showcase our quality home decor products and to leave our *gift* like items on our Pick My Gift site.

However, as time went buy, we focused on offering the best American Made in the USA home decor products - which can be given as gifts. Therefore, we have created Pick My Decor to allow you to shop by your decorating theme, such as African Safari, Country Style, Nautical Coastal Beach theme, Oriental Asian, and our newest Old World theme.

Our Western and Southwestern themed decor for cowboys, Native American, and horse lovers was previously moved to our West by Southwest Decor site, and our Rustic Lodge and Cabin decor has its own site now - Cabin Chalet Decor.

We sincerely hope this makes your shopping much easier as the sites become more defined by their domain name and we hope you will enjoy the fine quality products we offer. Also remember, we LOVE helping customers create their castle and we promise we will give you as many choices as possible to help you achieve that. Additionally, if we do not offer what you are looking for on one of our sites, call us, we might be able to get it for you.

Happy Shopping,

We've been family-owned since the beginning. Artists, Steve & Joan Feinsod, founded Graphik Dimensions Ltd. (GD), in 1965, to bring affordable, fine art quality framing to the creative community they knew and loved. Always the innovators, they were the first to launch a business like this, direct to fellow Artists & Photographers, and later became the first to take it online, and the first to offer the uber-interactive virtual frame shop (our Personal Frame Shop). We thank you for letting us serve you ? and for inspiring us with your creations.

ARTISTIC ROOTSWONDER YEARSAGE OF EXPLORATIONDIGITAL AGENEXT GENERATIONTODAY

True DIYers, our Founders (and childhood sweethearts!), Joan & Steve Feinsod began making frames to complement their own art for sale at shows. Overflow made its way to friends & colleagues in their artistic community. Soon, there was heavy demand for their framing and they found themselves spending more and more time filling picture frame orders than creating art. Thus was the beginning of Graphik Dimensions Ltd. ? founded with love in the den of their Queens, NY home in 1965.

Fun Facts:

Joan's media of choice ? Mixed Media, Pen & Ink, Oil Paint, Acrylic Paint, Pencil, Scratchboard, Markers (and almost anything else within arm's length!)
Steve's media of choice ? Acrylic Paint, Serigraphs, Photography
Each year during the holidays, greeting cards handmade by Joan & Steve would cover every available surface in their home, so the paint could dry. To this day, their daughters Lauri & Robyn can still close their eyes and smell the turpentine!

Pinwilz Framing Owner, Bev Heldman comes from a long family tradition of wood working. Her Paw Paw was a wood worker and bee keeper in Old Fort since the early 1900's. Bev's fondest memories of her childhood are from the hours spent in the shop seeing projects come to life and smelling the fresh cut wood. Bev will tell you, that wood working is in her soul and it is a passion that cannot be trained.
A successful mixed media craftsman herself, Bev for many years owned and operated McDowell Counties most successful privately owned art and hand craft gallery, TAAS Gallery until the great recession pummeled the business. Only faith, strong belief and relentless positive thinking have allowed Bev to push her business into it's newest era. Pinwilz Framing is actually a throw-back to it original roots. In 1989 Pinwilz Framing opened up shop in Oliver Springs, TN. Now many years later, the specialty framing name reemerges. Over the past 20 plus years, Bev has been concentrating on many mediums for art and crafts. Her vast knowledge of wood, presentation and attention to detail assures that your project with Pinwilz will be done to your satisfaction. Bev also does commissions and has a thriving little consignment gallery of other local hand crafter's from the area. Many of the artisans are very loyal to the Heldman's and have been with them since first opening TAAS Gallery in 2008.

Sons C & C Heldman have both shown interest in the family business and who knows, one day, maybe they will take it to the next level.
