The Birth of an American Company
It was 2002, Lawson Nickol had a job he enjoyed and an income that supported his family. Looking down the road he saw promise of a comfortable retirement. But he didn't foresee the approaching bump in the road. As a sales manager for a USA jeans manufacturer, he believed he was doing the right thing by selling a product that was as American as Mom, apple pie and baseball. One evening while shopping in a retail store he discovered his company's label on a pair of jeans, a style he had not seen before. His initial reaction was great, our retail division has branched into a retail chain and that means healthy growth. This is good!Wrong. unfortunately that bump in the road had just arrived. Lawson noticed the label indicated Made in Mexico. With a frantic and disappointing call to headquarters he confirmed the tag was accurate. Suddenly there was a disturbing realization, his employer had begun to outsource.

Where We Are
What he did about it: The thought of sending jobs outside our borders didn't sit well with Lawson and he was certain it would not be acceptable to the USA labor market where he had sold for years. His passion and reputation was built by offering quality USA Made jeans. This discovery was devastating. Within days he turned in his resignation.

A hope and a dream: Lawson could not let his employer ruin his reputation or let greed crush his passion for supporting American workers and his family. He decided he must continue to support USA made and the loyal clients that still want to buy USA, even if he had to make the jeans himself.and that was the beginning of All American Clothing Co. The first several years were tough, the company survived on family savings, taking financial risks and working long hours. Yet each year the company continued to grow. The dream came true.Today, All American Clothing Co. produces thousands of jeans per year and continues to provide many Americans with jobs!

Thank you: The Nickol family continues to operate the company that supplies patrons with products that you can be proud to wear. The family and the employees believe The USA label will always stay on our jeans because you and we understand the importance of USA Made. When you buy a pair of All American Jeans our label also means, Thank you from us, our employees and the people in our country who still have good jobs due to folks like you. Thank you from all of us.

Company History

In October 1996, Mike Hensley realized that there was a tremendous need for a domestic source that could get these products back to first quality condition, expedite the repairs and return of these products to the distributor while ensuring a viable, economically sound, alternative to its customer. It was because of this need, and a desire to build a company around this need, that Hensley approached Mr. Hugh T. Wallace, who became a co-owner and equal partner in this endeavor. That is when World Class Footwear Repair Service, Inc. was founded.

Since our inception, we have been providing services and performed repairs on hundreds of thousands of pairs of shoes, boots and leather products for dozens of clients. Due to Wallace's expertise in footwear manufacturing and Hensley's expertise in pattern engineering, in January of 2000 the company decided to diversify to include Component Manufacturing and Product Engineering Services.

This expansion of services proved to be a successful move for World Class Footwear Repair Service, Inc. In the following 3 years, while continuing to excel in repair services our endeavors began to transition our main business more toward manufacturing services.

In late 2003, we signed a 5 year ongoing manufacturing contract. Due to the size and length of the job we needed a larger workspace. In February 2004, Along with the move into a new building, over 4 times larger than our original location, to reflect our expanding service base a new name was created, Allegiance Footwear, Inc.

In mid 2007, we began production on our very own line of boots. The Allegiance Footwear Factory Store and our online storefront AFboots.com launched in November 2007 with three different styles and several various colors, each complete with waterproof and insulated construction.

In 1922, Allen Edmonds founder Elbert W. Allen launched his new shoe company (originally called the Allen-Spiegel Shoe Company) in Belgium, Wisconsin, less than 10 miles from our current headquarters. A family man at heart, Allen knew, as did his future partner and salesman extraordinaire, Bill Pops Edmonds, that to be a success they needed to stay close to their roots, knowing that the Midwestern values of hard work, honesty, humility and trust would be the cornerstones of a new kind of shoe company.

We say new kind of shoe company because of Allen's innovative manufacturing techniques that relied on Goodyear welting to make fashionable and durable shoes that were nail-less and shankless (meaning they had no uncomfortable metal bar under the instep). The new brand of shoes were an instant success, and when the other shoe companies of the day emulated us, we set ourselves apart by continuing to up the ante on craftsmanship, style and service.

While a great deal of the Allen Edmonds' success can be credited to Allen's groundbreaking ideas, our longevity is also attributable to the company being at its heart, a family business. From 1922 till 1978, either Allen or one of his sons- Bert and Boyd-was in charge of the company, and their strong and steady leadership allowed Allen Edmonds to succeed despite the hard times of the Great Depression, the rationing years of World War II (during which we made shoes for officers to wear with their dress uniforms), and the mounting pressures of foreign competition in the 1960s and '70s.

We credit our strong values and work ethics as the reasons our footwear is consistently chosen by corporate, political, entertainment and community leaders.

Our lineage not only highlights our Wisconsin roots and Midwestern values, but underscores how being an Allen Edmonds Man is passed down from one generation to the next. For us, there is nothing better than having a father bring his son into one of our stores to get him fitted for his first pair of Allen Edmonds. They may not pick out the same style, but this sharing of wisdom and sense of style-getting the most for your money-speaks to tradition and fellowship, and we are honored to be a part of these moments.

As you can imagine, this sort of loyalty has attracted customers from all walks of life, especially those whose drive to be the best has pushed them to the top of their chosen professions. We credit our strong values and work ethics as the reasons our footwear is consistently chosen by corporate, political, entertainment and community leaders. Whether it is receiving a glowing endorsement from the Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper, or Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush all choosing to wear Park Avenues for their inaugurations, we cannot help but be proud that leaders all over the world are wearing our shoes during the most important moments of their esteemed careers.
