James Duffer, the company founder and president, is a US Navy veteran. He entered Naval Officer Candidate School in 1963, graduated, and served as a Naval Flight Officer until 1968. He served on the USS Wasp CVS 18 in the Atlantic patrolling for Soviet submarines during the not so cold Cold War.
